It's been a while!

Sorry, thanks for your messages, we know it's been too long since we updated the blog, we'll try not to let it happen again!

So the well publicised shortlist got drawn up, whilst every man and his dog had a view on who was on it, and it doesn't really seem to have been narrowed down to the 4 potential candidates that was banded about a while ago!

Still widely accepted to be in the running, are Luiz Felipe Scolari (Phil), Martin O'Neill, Alan Curbishley, Steve McClaren and Sam Allardyce, whilst others haven't definately been ruled out, these guys are the favourites to take over.

Phil Scolari is an interesting choice, with many people shouting for an English man, Phil has proven success at an international level. Looking at what Portugal have acheived with him at the helm, and obviouasly what Brazil managed, this guy could be great for England, but there are doubts whether he could manage the team with the incredible media attention that comes with the job, having not previously managed in the country. He remains firmly focussed on a successful campaign in Germany with Portugal, could be a good outside bet.

Martin O'Neill is staying very quiet. Not currently with any club, it could be speculated that he is taking a rest before the big job!

Curbs and McClaren are still commenting regularly on how distracting the speculation is distracting, maybe stop talking to the press and concentrate on the job at hand....? Big Sam is still looking for players up at Bolton to compete in English football. We'll get the latest prices up here when we can!
